Welcome: Jill welcomed and initiated Pledge.
Review of Minutes: August minutes were approved and posted online.
Principal’s Report (Wendy):
- Softball and Football (TiKnightanCrest) doing great.
- October 18 - Softball will be presented a new softball field thanks to Mr. Ballard and WSU Softball.
- Wendy is looking for a positive experience for football including a field trip to WSU facility.
- Armor Training has replaced character ed and has had good response so far.
- Mr. Gross will add PTSA to the Google Classroom so we can view videos.
- Discussion about early outs-all dates are on the school magnet.
- Discussion about a possible email from the administration keeping parents up to date on all the good happenings at the school.
Counselor’s Report (Jackie):
- HOPE Squad has several activities planned for NOJH.
- Therapy dogs, Hands for Hope, Pink Day,
- HOPE assembly at elementaries on 9/27
- HOPE Squad and counseling have arranged several mental health resources for HOPE week Try It Knight.
- 9th Grade Counts will be presented next week
PTSA Reps:
- There are about 20 student reps for the upcoming year.
- Working to decide meeting time.
Parent Teacher Conference Dinner: (Amy D.)
- 9/25 at 4:00
- Maddox chicken, potatoes, & rolls; salad and cheesecake from Costco; waters
- 70 people
- $28 for 20 pc of chicken x 5 orders
- Planned to be under budget
HOPE Week:
- Volunteer List will be a Google Doc sent to PTSA group
- Passports: Marlisa will create
- Spot for each activity
- Complete activities for chances at drawings
- Pickup and dropoff at same spot
- 8,000 airheads donated for students with Safe UT app on phone or Chromebook
- Layout: Suzie is creating a map
- Food Trucks
- Kristyn is still working with them. Funding looks good for grant.
- Shirts
- Water Bottles - Kim got from WalMart, Jackie arranged for recycling
- Vendors
- Dart Side confirmed
- 800 coupons from Pizza Man for breadsticks and pizza
- Obstacle Course
- Jackie to check with PE teachers for support
- Mental Health Resources
- Jackie has confirmed multiple resources
- Ensure they are in a visible area
- Build community and inform students
